Senior Estimator Location: Cumbria (Sellafield Site) / Hybrid Working Available Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Bonus + Excellent Benefits Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Senior Estimator | Major Nuclear Infrastructure Projects | Sellafield Are you an experienced Senior Estimator looking to play a key role on one of the UK's most significant nuclear infrastructure programmes? Our client, is a leading international engineering and construction organisation with over 60 years of experience delivering complex nuclear and infrastructure projects globally. The company has recently secured a major long-term framework as part of the Sellafield Ltd Infrastructure Delivery Partnership (IDP), supporting critical nuclear operations, decommissioning and civil infrastructure works across the Sellafield site. As a result of continued growth, they are seeking a highly capable Senior Estimator to join their commercial and pre-construction team, helping to secure and deliver a diverse portfolio of major projects within a highly regulated nuclear environment. The Role Reporting to the Head of Estimating, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale civil engineering, infrastructure and nuclear projects. You will work closely with project managers, planners, engineers, commercial teams and supply chain partners to develop robust cost plans from concept through to tender submission. Key Responsibilities * Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions. * Review client specifications, drawings and contract documentation. * Develop estimating strategies for complex infrastructure and nuclear projects. * Produce first-principle estimates and cost plans. * Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. * Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions. * Support bid presentations and commercial negotiations. * Collaborate with engineering, planning and project delivery teams. * Maintain cost databases and benchmarking information. * Ensure estimates comply with company governance and client requirements. Candidate Requirements Essential * Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or Estimator on major construction or infrastructure projects. * Strong background in civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, nuclear, energy or heavy industrial sectors. * Experience producing detailed estimates from first principles. * Strong commercial awareness and understanding of NEC contracts. * Excellent analytical and numerical skills. * Ability to lead estimating activities on large-scale projects. * Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications. * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
