Our client, Leicestershire County Council, is seeking an agency Team Manager for its Disabled Children’s team.
This role will last 3 months initially, paid at £42 - £45 per hour.

The role will involve the following:
- The Disabled Children’s Service consists of two social work teams led by a strong and experienced service manager.
- We are a Trauma Informed Service, responding to families who tell us how hard it is to navigate services and secure the help that they need.
- Signs of Safety is the expected practice methodology and having knowledge of this and an understanding is desirable.
- Staff workloads are manageable, and these continue to improve.
- Managers and staff all have regular monthly supervision.
- You will be responsible for providing leadership and management oversight to your team of social workers and accountable for how work is delivered.
- You will use performance data and audit to drive improvement and ensure that interventions are timely and consistently good quality.
- We want you to feel you are part of a wider management team, and you are expected to attend regular wider management team meetings with the senior team and Assistant Director.
- Hybrid working (2-3 days per week in the Coalville office)
Requirements of the role:
- Qualified Social Worker
- Fully Social Work England registered
- 3 years post-qualified experience in employment of a local authority (DFE rules)
- You will be an energetic and enthusiastic social work manager who is able to share your enthusiasm and passion for practice with those you manage.
- You will have extensive experience of working in children’s services and an in depth understanding of disability and the issues faced by disabled children and their families.
- You will be able to evidence your skills and knowledge of creative, innovative and relationship-based social work and demonstrates your ability to lead and manage a skilled workforce.
- You will have a strong and credible professional reputation.
- You have retained a strong interest in research and the evidence base for practice and are confident about how this can be used in practice
- Ideally you will already be confident in the application of the Signs of Safety methodology but certainly in the value of relationship-based social work.
