The below job description will outline this position of: Fire & Security Engineer
Typically, this person will be responsible for servicing, commissioning, fault finding, small works installations, site surveys and supporting fire system design projects across a broad customer base.
Duties and responsibilities of the Fire & Security Engineer will be:
Service and commissioning of fire systems
Reactive and scheduled maintenance visits including PPMs
Carry out small works and installations
Assist with site surveys and fire system designs as required
Liaise with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders during installations and commissioning works
Collate commissioning information and assist with O&M documentation
Support other engineers and assist with technical site issues as required
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times
Participate in the on-call rota and provide second line phone support when required
Qualifications and requirements for the Fire & Security Engineer:
Previous experience working on fire alarm systems
Experience with service, commissioning and fault finding
Ability to carry out installations and small works independently
Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
Strong communication skills when dealing with clients and colleagues
Willingness to undertake manufacturer and industry training courses
Flexible approach to working hours and occasional overnight stays
Working Hours & Package:
Minimum 40 hours per week
Usual working hours are xwzovoh Monday to Friday, 08:30 17:00
Flexibility required between 06:30 and 18:30 as business needs dictate
Overtime paid at basic rate Monday to Friday, time and a half Saturdays, double time Sundays and Bank Holidays
Door to door travel paid
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Company van provided during probation, suitable vehicle provided thereafter
Fuel card provided
Laptop and mobile phone supplied
Pension scheme available under auto-enrolment legislation
Expenses, accommodation and meals covered for overnight stays when required
