A nurturing and well-resourced specialist setting in West London is seeking a dedicated SEN HLTA to join its supportive team from September 2026. This SEN HLTA opportunity is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step, supporting pupils with additional needs to develop independence and confidence in a structured, caring environment.
The school is highly regarded for its child-centred approach, offering small class sizes and exceptional levels of support through experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistants. The successful SEN HLTA will play a key role in delivering personalised learning and supporting class teachers to ensure every child can thrive both academically and socially.
SEN HLTA – Role Overview:
Support teaching and learning within EYFS/KS1 as a SEN HLTA in a specialist setting
Deliver small group interventions and occasionally lead whole-class sessions
Work closely with class teachers to plan and adapt learning activities
Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs
Support pupils in developing independence, communication skills, and confidence as a SEN HLTA
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP targets and reviews
SEN HLTA – Candidate Profile:
HLTA qualification or significant experience in a similar role
Strong experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly within EYFS/KS1
Good understanding of early childhood development and SEND
A patient, proactive, and nurturing approach
Confidence in leading learning activities and supporting teachers
Passion for helping children grow in independence and confidence as a SEN HLTA
This SEN HLTA role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or HLTA looking to develop further within a highly supportive specialist setting. The appointed SEN HLTA will benefit from excellent staff support, ongoing CPD, and the opportunity to make a genuine impact on pupils’ early development.
