Darlington
£88-£115 per day
Full-time 08:30 - 16:00
Start Date: ASAP / Post-Easter 2026 / September 2026
Contract: Temporary (until July 2026)

We are currently recruiting passionate Teaching Assistants to join a highly supportive SEN school in Darlington on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils and contribute positively to their learning, development, and overall wellbeing.
About the School-
A well-established and inclusive SEN school based in Darlington

Supports pupils aged 2-19, with opportunities across both primary and secondary phases

A collaborative and supportive working environment, with a strong leadership team

Staff work closely together to provide consistent, high-quality support for all learners
-
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs
-
Support learners with needs including ASD, ADHD, PMLD, MLD, and SEMH
-
Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging in learning activities
-
Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
-
Work closely with class teachers and wider staff to understand individual learning needs

Provide personal care where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
We are looking for individuals who are:

Experienced in working with children in UK school settings
-
Ideally qualified in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or a related field (desirable)

Confident in building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
-
Resilient, proactive, and adaptable in a dynamic environment
-
Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
-
Right to work in the UK
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Two professional references covering the last two years (child-related)
