About the role
Key Responsibilities
Perform servicing, repair, and maintenance of diesel, and electric forklift trucks, including hydraulic systems, transmissions, engines, and batteries
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults and execute corrective repairs on-site or in workshop environments
Carry out preventative maintenance and respond to emergency breakdowns swiftly and effectively.
compliance and safety standards
Complete accurate job sheets, service reports, parts usage logs, and client communications for each assignment
Maintain van stock levels, liaise with parts controllers or service managers, and escalate quotes for major repairs
Required Qualifications & Skills
NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance, Motor Vehicle Engineering, Plant Maintenance, or equivalent vocational qualification or higher
Proven experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical fault finding, ideally including forklift trucks or plant machinery
Full UK driving licence is essential
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, proficiency using diagnostic tools or handheld devices
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work independently or within a team
