About the role
Owing to continued growth, a leading equipment manufacturer has a new role for a Head of Planning to lead on Planning activities, enhance the planning strategy and oversee the Sales, Inventory, Operations and Planning processes.

Managing and leading a team of 5, you will ensure production schedules and resource planning aligns with customer demand and manufacturing requirements. This will include leading on existing manufacturing and also introducing new products into manufacturing.
You will oversee day-to-day planning activities, develop and maintain reliable and detailed production schedules and the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
You will manage inventory policies and levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, coordinating with the Head of Supply Chain to ensure timely material availability.
You will ensure ERP and MRP data accuracy, and lead on improvements in planning systems and technology adoption.
Drawing on your management / leadership experience you will lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing planning team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
As the senior planning interface, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Import/Export and Shipping to align plans with business objectives.
Qualifications:
Ideally you should have achieved a qualification in a relevant discipline such as Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional qualifications such as APICS CPIM/CSCP or Lean/CI certifications are desirable.
Experience:
With a proven background in manufacturing planning or supply chain, you should have a strong technical knowledge of MRP II principles, ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP), and supply planning methodologies.
You should also have hands on experience managing and developing Planning teams including recognising, inspiring, and motivating the team to contribute to business objectives, and putting in place actions and opportunities to develop the team.

Salary: up to c£65-70k, plus generous benefits
