About the role
We are pleased to be partnering with a global scientific publisher who are looking to recruit an experienced journal publishing professional to join their friendly journals team. This is an interesting opportunity for a pro-active self-starter who would enjoy shaping the continued growth, quality and impact of a leading STEM journal portfolio. This role can be worked on a hybrid basis with 1-2 days a week in the London office. Remote working may also be considered.
The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.
The Journal Publishing Editor will play a key role in supporting strategic development initiatives, commissioning activity, and product development plans including:

Developing new STEM-related research journals through journal acquisition and new launches.

Managing and growing an existing journals portfolio to improve and maintain market relevance, including identifying new opportunities for growth and developing and helping to implement new publishing models.

Identifying high-value topics for special issues and commission guest editors to coordinate paper invitations/call-for-papers.

Working towards portfolio objectives including, content growth, articles, market share and relative impact and performance.

Representing the company at industry events, conferences etc.
The successful person will ideally have a bio-science degree (or equivalent), with proven experience in journal publishing/editorial roles, preferably within STEM publishing, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will have the ability to meet deadlines, possess a pro-active, confident approach, and strong communication/organisational skills, and a clear interest in developing your career within scientific publishing. xwzovoh
