The Nest investment team is responsible for investing members’ contributions in order to grow their retirement pots over the long-term.


The responsibilities of the team include:

  • Manager selection and monitoring

  • The development of the investment proposition

The Role

The Investment Analyst will sit within the Asset Allocation function and be responsible for supporting the implementation of asset allocation decisions and the ongoing managing and monitoring of investment portfolios.


You will carry out routine asset allocation, portfolio rebalancing, and implementation activity and work closely with the Investment Operation team to ensure the effective operation and documentation of the investment management process.


The Investment Analyst will contribute to market and asset class analysis to help inform strategic and tactical allocation decisions whilst in conjunction developing a strong understanding of Nest Invest’s investment approach, portfolio construction methodology, and governance framework, with scope and responsibility of the role evolving over time as capability improves.


The Person

This is a brand new role and a fantastic opportunity for a developing, passionate and ambitious investment professional to come into a rapidly and sustainably growing asset manager, where they will have excellent career development and progression opportunities as well as an environment that can offer long term stability. We are looking for:


  • A driven, ambitious and passionate Investment Analyst, ideally with experience of asset allocation and a macroeconomic, top down approach to investment analysis.
  • Foundational knowledge of financial assets and instruments (e.g. equities, bonds, derivatives) and core investment concepts, with exposure to asset allocation principles a strong advantage.
  • Awareness and appreciation of statistical techniques and experience of applying empirical analysis to historical financial data.
  • Exposure to portfolio analysis across multiple asset classes, with experience across both public and private markets a clear advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, with the ability to build and interpret analytical models.
  • A strong interest in self‑development, with a proactive and positive (“can‑do”) approach to learning new skills and taking on new tasks
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritising work and meeting deadlines in a structured environment.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and clearly with people from a range of professional backgrounds.
  • A genuine interest in investment management and a willingness to develop analytical and problem‑solving skills.

For the role holder, this means working in a regulated entity, and being required to adhere to certain rules and behaviours included in the FCA’s Code of Conduct (COCON), specifically the individual Conduct Rules defined by the FCA.
