ESDD / ESIA Director – ESG Advisory

My client is an ambitious and rapidly expanding ESG consultancy working at the intersection of finance, infrastructure and sustainability, supporting major development projects across global markets with a particular focus on developing countries

They are now looking to appoint an ESDD / ESIA Director to lead and grow a critical service line, combining technical leadership, commercial delivery and team development.

 The Opportunity

• This is a senior, high-impact role where you will:
• Lead complex ESDD and ESIA projects for investors, lenders and developers
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including financial institutions
• Drive the growth and direction of the ESDD/ESIA offering
• Manage and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team
• Play a key role in business development, client relationships and strategic planning
• You’ll be working on major infrastructure and development projects globally, helping clients navigate environmental and social risk while unlocking investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of ESDD and ESIA projects from strategy through to execution
• Manage client relationships and act as a senior point of contact
• Oversee project quality, budgets and risk management
• Provide technical leadership across environmental and social disciplines
• Support and lead business development, bids and proposals
• Develop and mentor a growing team
• Shape and implement strategic growth plans for the service line

About You

You will bring:

• Strong experience in ESDD, ESIA or ESG advisory within consultancy or finance
• Proven ability to work with lenders, developers or infrastructure investors
• Deep understanding of IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles and international ESG frameworks
• A track record of leading complex projects and managing client relationships
• Experience in business development and winning work
• Strong leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams
• International project experience and exposure to emerging markets would be highly advantageous.
