Secondary AP SENDCO - Sheffield Location: Sheffield Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full-time, Ongoing Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Essential Requirement: SENDCO Qualification are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate SENDCO to join a dedicated Secondary AP setting in Sheffield from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional to take on a key leadership position within a supportive and forward-thinking alternative provision environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality SEND provision, ensuring students with additional needs receive the support and guidance required to succeed both academically and personally. The Role: Lead and oversee SEND provision across the school Coordinate EHCPs, interventions, and provision mapping effectively Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, parents, and external agencies Provide guidance and training to staff around inclusive practice and SEND strategies Monitor pupil progress and ensure appropriate support is in place Ensure compliance with current SEND legislation and statutory responsibilities Promote an inclusive learning environment that supports positive outcomes for all learners The Ideal Candidate Will Have: A recognised SENDCO qualification (essential) Previous experience in a SEND leadership role within a secondary setting or AP environment Strong knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practices Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people with additional needs Why Join This School?
