Design Engineer

Design Engineer Location: Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire Salary: £58,000 per annum Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Working Pattern: On-site Reporting to: EMEA Engineering Lead The Role We are looking for an experienced Control System Design Engineer to join a growing engineering and manufacturing environment in Droitwich Spa. You will be responsible for the design and development of industrial control systems, electrical panels and automation solutions, while supporting engineering change, production, NPI and continuous improvement activities. This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, from initial design through to manufacture, testing and commissioning. Key Responsibilities Act as the Design Authority for controls engineering projects. Design control panels, electrical schematics and control systems. Develop and review PLC, HMI and automation solutions. Produce and review P&IDs, schematics, BOMs, Sequences of Operation and technical documentation. Manage drawing revisions and Engineering Change Control. Maintain accurate BOMs, routing information and technical documentation. Support FAT, SAT and commissioning activities. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production. Manage and support NCRs, corrective actions and continuous improvement. Support NPI, DFMA, Value Engineering and product standardisation. Work closely with customers, manufacturing, project management and engineering teams. Develop SOPs, work instructions and manufacturing standards. Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and delivery requirements. What We're Looking For Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation Engineering or a related discipline. Proven experience in industrial controls, automation or control panel design. Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, PLCs, HMIs and control systems. Experience with CAD/electrical design software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical. Experience with engineering change control, BOM management and manufacturing documentation. Good understanding of manufacturing processes, including fabrication, welding, structural steel and modular manufacturing. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, DFMA and continuous improvement. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and relevant engineering standards, including BS EN 1090 where applicable. Strong communication, problem-solving and project management skills. Full UK Driving Licence ? essential.
