Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, preparing students thoroughly for GCSE examinations Develop pupils' understanding of physical geography, human geography, and environmental issues Use a variety of teaching strategies to challenge and support learners of all abilities Assess student progress regularly and provide meaningful, actionable feedback Foster curiosity, independent thinking, and a broader awareness of the world Manage your classroom effectively, maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement Contribute to departmental planning, trips, and wider school initiatives where appropriate Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification A degree in Geography or a closely related subject Classroom experience teaching Geography at secondary level is desirable Confident subject knowledge spanning both physical and human geography Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students A dedicated, reflective, and professional approach to teaching An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new application) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
