About the role

Major recruitment are currently recruiting for a multi skilled maintenance engineer for our Birmingham based client, starting work immediately - full time The succesful applicant will work on a temporary basis initially, however a permanent position will be available for the right person. We are looking for somebody who is experienced working within industrial manufacturing environments, with a background in chemicals, metal, plastics or coatings As an experienced electrical / mechanical maintenance engineer you will hit the ground running:- Executing planned preventative maintenance and conducting routine inspections across the site - following the sites CMMS. Responding to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing root causes and delivering long‑term engineering solutions - not just quick fixes. Completing maintenance work requests, keeping accurate records, and supporting continuous improvement activities such as 5S, Lean and Kaizen aswell as supporting installation projects. We need a proactive, hands‑on Maintenance Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient running of our clients plant, equipment and facilities. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, continuous improvement and getting involved in a wide variety of engineering tasks. You need to be an adaptable, safety‑conscious engineer with a strong problem‑solving mindset, who is comfortable working independently, using initiative and prioritising tasks effectively. Confident interacting across departments and working with external contractors.
