We are currently seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to support the growth of UK Public Sector accounts.
This is a remote, client-facing role requiring a highly technical and commercially aware pre-sales professional with proven experience in secure Government environments.
Key Responsibilities Lead technical discovery sessions and support the full sales lifecycle Act as a trusted technical advisor to Public Sector clients and internal stakeholders Translate complex technical requirements into clear business value propositions Support product demonstrations, PoCs, and troubleshooting activities Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to provide market feedback and influence roadmap direction Contribute to RFP/RFI responses, technical documentation, and whitepapers Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, integrators, and service providers Identify upsell and expansion opportunities within existing accounts Represent the organisation at industry events and customer engagements Key Requirements Minimum 5 years experience in IT, with at least 2 years in a pre-sales, network engineering, or technical support role Demonstrable experience working within UK Government or Public Sector environments Active SC Clearance (essential) Strong technical knowledge of: Cisco routing, switching, gateways, and network applications TCP/IP, SNMP, NetFlow, VoIP LAN/WAN architectures (MPLS, Frame Relay, ATM) Network security principles and infrastructure design Understanding of cloud and virtualisation technologies (SDN/NFV, public/private cloud) Familiarity with performance and monitoring tools (e.g.
ArcSight, Tivoli, HP OpenView, EMC SMARTS) Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently at senior and C-suite level Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE (or equivalent experience) Willingness to travel within the UK (approximately 6070%) Desirable Experience Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical/military background Exposure to cybersecurity tools and concepts (e.g.
packet capture, Wireshark, Zeek) Familiarity with tools such as Riverbed, ExtraHop, A10, Arbor Networks Experience contributing to technical strategy, whitepapers, or solution design documentation Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001 Pre-sales methodology training (e.g.
