QA Engineer
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset
Project: Major Flagship Construction Project
An opportunity has arisen for a QA Engineer to join the project delivery team on a high-profile, flagship construction project in Bridgwater, Somerset. This role offers the chance to gain experience on a large, technically complex scheme, supporting the delivery of high-quality construction works in line with client and contractual requirements.
The successful candidate will support the Senior QA Engineer in the day-to-day implementation of quality assurance processes on site, carrying out inspections, maintaining quality records, and ensuring works are completed in accordance with approved procedures.
The Role
*
Carry out quality assurance inspections and checks in line with project procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and specifications
*
Support the implementation of the Project Quality Plan under the direction of the Senior QA Engineer
*
Ensure pre-pour, civils, drainage, and associated quality records are completed accurately and in a timely manner
*
Record inspection results, raise quality observations, and assist in the management of non-conformances (NCRs)
*
Provide clear feedback to the Senior QA Engineer on inspection findings and quality issues
*
Review method statements and quality documentation relevant to assigned works
*
Liaise with site teams and subcontractors to promote compliance with quality requirements
*
Maintain quality records, as-built information, and support the compilation of handover documentation
*
Assist with internal audits and client inspections as required
*
Ensure quality activities are carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental requirements
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
*
Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline
*
Previous experience in a QA Engineer or site-based quality role within construction or civil engineering
*
Understanding of quality assurance processes, inspections, and quality documentation
*
Experience working with ITPs, inspection records, and quality control procedures
*
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
*
Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with site teams and subcontractors
*
Well-organised, detail-focused, and proactive approach to work
*
Competent IT skills, including MS Office and document management systems
