The Opportunity
This is a multi-billion-pound nuclear construction project that demands precision, innovation, and strategic thinking. As Senior Estimator, you’ll play a critical role in shaping project success by producing accurate cost estimates, supporting tender strategies, and influencing commercial decisions. Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for major civil engineering packages in line with project requirements.
Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to ensure accurate pricing.
Collaborate with commercial, design, and procurement teams to develop competitive bids.
Identify cost risks and opportunities, providing input into value engineering strategies.
Maintain estimating databases and ensure compliance with governance and audit standards.
Support tender presentations and client negotiations.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or related discipline.
Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator on major infrastructure projects (£50m+).
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and UK construction cost frameworks.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
It’s great if you also have the following
Experience in nuclear or highly regulated sectors.
Familiarity with estimating software and digital cost management tools.
Background in civil engineering and reinforced concrete structures.
