We’re looking for a Transport Operations Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis at our Cardiff site.
In this role, you’ll oversee transport operations across the site, ensuring everything runs efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively. You’ll lead teams, optimize fleet performance, maintain service standards, and drive continuous improvement. You’ll also work closely with customers to deliver exceptional service while managing budgets and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £45,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.?
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day transport operations, manage fleet performance, driver scheduling, and route planning
- Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with on-site customers, resolve issues quickly, and ensure service excellence
- Leadership & Development: Lead and motivate transport teams, fostering collaboration and growth
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to transport legislation, conduct audits, and maintain health & safety standards
- Financial Control: Manage budgets, monitor costs, and identify savings without compromising quality
- Continuous Improvement: Use data to drive efficiency and implement process improvements
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the go-to contact for internal teams and external partners
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- Proven experience in transport or logistics management
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and compliance
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to analyze data and implement improvements
- CPC in Transport Management (preferred)
- Full UK Driving Licence
