Role: SEN Teaching Assistant Contract: Long-term Start date: September 2026 School type: SEN School Location: Hammersmith Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term role in a specialist school setting? A welcoming SEN School in Hammersmith is seeking a confident, patient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support a secondary age group pupil on a 1:1 basis from September 2026. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone with experience supporting young people with additional needs, particularly in an SEN school, PRU, alternative provision or specialist unit. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to provide consistent support that helps the pupil access learning, build confidence and develop independence. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping with learning, communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour. The school is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is calm, resilient, proactive and able to build a strong, trusting relationship with a secondary age pupil who may have complex needs. Previous experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs, sensory needs or challenging behaviour would be highly beneficial. This SEN Teaching Assistant position would suit someone who understands the importance of routine, clear boundaries, patience and positive reinforcement. Key responsibilities: * Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a secondary age pupil * Support learning, communication, behaviour and emotional regulation * Follow individual support plans and school routines * Encourage independence, confidence and positive interaction * Work closely with teachers, therapists and wider support staff * Support the pupil during lessons, transitions and wider school activities The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have: * Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN * Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis * A calm, firm and patient approach * Strong behaviour management and emotional regulation skills * Confidence working with secondary age pupils * A reliable, resilient and committed attitude If you are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant and would like to be considered for this role, please contact Vision Teaching or apply within
