Paralegal – Clinical Negligence (London) City of London | Full-time | Permanent Salary: £28-30,000 per annum A well-established, highly regarded specialist legal practice is seeking a Paralegal to join its busy Clinical Negligence team in London. The team focuses primarily on complex and high-value claimant clinical negligence matters, including birth injury and catastrophic injury cases, alongside a broad range of medical negligence claims across all clinical areas. The practice has a strong reputation within the sector and is recognised for delivering high-quality legal services and achieving successful outcomes for clients nationwide. Role Overview The successful candidate will support Solicitors within the Clinical Negligence department, assisting with case progression and ensuring efficient file management. You will work closely with fee earners and contribute to the smooth running of a busy and fast-paced team. Key Responsibilities * Assisting Solicitors with case-related tasks and providing regular progress updates * Maintaining accurate and organised case files (both electronic and hard copy) * Communicating with new and existing clients in a professional manner * Drafting documents including witness statements, instructions and general correspondence * Conducting legal research as required * Supporting other Paralegals within the team when needed * Meeting individual and team deadlines and targets * Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and professional standards * Providing general administrative support to the department * Adapting to new systems and technology where required Person Specification Essential: * 2:1 degree in Law (or equivalent / conversion qualification) * Strong legal drafting and research skills * Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) * Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach * High attention to detail and strong organisational ability * Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure * Capable of working independently and as part of a team * Professional, reliable, and confident in dealing with stakeholders at all levels Desirable: * Previous paralegal experience in clinical negligence (ideally 2+ years) * LPC or SQE completion or part-time study * CILEx studies * Experience using case management systems (e.g. Proclaim) * Exposure to birth injury or orthopaedic claims To be considered for this opportunity, please contact Ellie or Luke on (phone number removed)/(phone number removed)
