M&E Assistant Project Manager

C.Neo Ltd are working with a local SME commercial maintenance & construction contractor to recruit a Mechanical & Electrical bias Assistant Project Manager to work assisting the Senior Project Managers on various differing Mechanical & Electrical projects within the MOD sector in Portsmouth, Hampshire. The ideal M&E Assistant Project Manager will need to be available for an immediate start and be able to obtain Security Clearance. Duties of the M&E Assistant Project Manager will be to * Assist in the planning and coordination of a project from start to finish, including organising the schedule of work, costings, and budget * Plan the work and oversee the buying of necessary materials and equipment * Assist in overseeing the management of the construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work, and overseeing quality control * Assist to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress * Check design documents with architects, surveyors, and engineers * Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed * Write project reports * Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project, i.e. stakeholder management alongside or in in place of Project Manager * Communicate with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and others involved in the project * Assist in dealing with any unexpected problems that may occur during the project. * Assist in the management of all relevant personnel for the project * Produce and manage work programmes for project * Assist in hiring staff for the project including CV analysis and carrying out interviews * Assist in producing cost reports, applications for payment and NEC or JCT contract management Qualifications needed as an M&E Assistant Project Manager are * SMSTS * Relevant Mechanical or Electrcical qualification * First Aid * Prince 2 would be advantageous
