Job Title: Secondary & Post-16 Teaching Assistant Area: Bury, Greater Manchester Start Date: Monday 20th April 2026 Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £525-£700 per week (Dependent on experience and responsibilities) Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm About the School: We are seeking Secondary and Post-16 Teaching Assistants to join a specialist secondary and sixth form school in Bury, supporting pupils aged 11-19 with a wide range of complex needs, including autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments. Secondary & Post-16 Teaching Assistant Role and Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils across secondary and post-16 classes. Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes and ensuring pupils can access the curriculum effectively. Support the development of independence, life skills, and social engagement. Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets. Work closely with the school team, families, and external agencies to ensure a nurturing and inclusive environment. Secondary & Post-16 Teaching Assistant - What We're Looking For: Experience working with young people with SEND, ideally in a school, residential, or community setting. A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to managing behaviour Strong communication and relationship-building skills A commitment to helping pupils achieve independence and life success.
