£38,000 £40,000 ( £18.30 - £19.20 ph )
The Role
A well-established, privately owned hotel is looking for a Sous Chef to join a growing kitchen team.
The operation includes:
Busy restaurant service
Strong banqueting and events trade (including weddings)
Seasonal menu changes and high-volume periods
You will work across all sections and support the Head Chef in delivering consistent, high-quality food across both restaurant and functions.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee kitchen sections during service with confidence
Prepare and plate dishes to a high standard
Support menu development and seasonal changes
Assist with functions and large-scale events
Maintain food safety and hygiene standards
Supervise and mentor junior team members
Help manage stock, ordering, and rotation
Step in for the Head Chef when required
What Theyre Looking For
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie in a busy kitchen
Background in hotels or mixed restaurant/events operations
Strong understanding of kitchen sections and service flow
Good communication and team mindset
Calm under pressure
Attention to detail
Genuine passion for food and development

Paid overtime at full hourly rate
Tronc / tips on top
Live-in accommodation available: private room, shared kitchen and garden, approx. £60/week including bills and WiFi
28 days holiday (increasing with service)
Staff discounts across the business

Uniform provided
Hours
Shift-based rota including early, mid, and late shifts
Weekends and key holiday periods required
