Role Overview
As an ICP Estimator , you will play a key role in producing accurate and commercially sound estimates for utility infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with clients, DNOs/IDNOs, civils contractors, and internal teams to scope, price, and submit tenders for HV/LV connections, diversions, and new networks.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed estimates for ICP works including HV/LV connections, point of connection applications, and diversions.
Analyse client specifications, drawings, and DNO/IDNO requirements to build complete pricing models.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of G81 specifications, NERS requirements, and ENA documentation.
Conduct site visits and scoping surveys to inform pricing strategy.
Collaborate with civils contractors to cost and plan cable routes and substation builds.
Manage tender submissions, PQQs, and quotations in line with commercial governance.
Liaise with DNOs, IDNOs, and stakeholders to validate technical assumptions and obtain scope confirmations.
Coordinate with Procurement, Delivery, and Engineering teams to ensure accurate cost build-ups.
Apply approved pricing schedules and markups to maintain margin consistency.
Support business development with pre-sales technical and pricing input.
Maintain pricing logs and contribute to pipeline forecasting.
Continuously improve pricing templates and quotation formats.
Assist in project handovers to ensure smooth mobilisation.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience estimating for ICP or utility infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of DNO/IDNO frameworks and Point of Connection processes.
Familiarity with UK G81 specifications and ENA documentation.
Commercial awareness of cost build-up and risk management.
Working knowledge of CDM and Health & Safety regulations.
Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and estimation software.
Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
Full UK driving licence.
