About the Role
Adkins & Cheurfi Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a renowned brand as they prepare to launch an exciting new restaurant and takeaway in Bowness-on-Windermere in Summer 2026. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen team from pre-opening through to a successful launch and beyond. This is a standout opportunity to shape the culinary direction of a high-profile venue, working closely with the company's Executive Chef to build, develop, and inspire a brand-new team. Unfortunately no accommodation available at this time.
Prior to opening, the successful candidate will play a key role in recruitment, training, and menu execution. As part of onboarding, you will spend one week at the Whitby site to gain valuable insight into the brand and food offering (all expenses covered).
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a positive and high-performing environment
Oversee all food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring consistency and excellence
Collaborate on and deliver innovative menus aligned with brand standards and customer expectations
Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards at all times
Manage stock, ordering, and food cost controls effectively
Train, mentor, and develop junior kitchen staff
Work closely with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and efficient service
Monitor kitchen performance during service and resolve issues promptly
Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained correctly
About You
Proven experience in a supervisory or Head Chef role within a fast-paced hospitality environment
Strong culinary background with expertise in food preparation and production
Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
Experience in menu development and presentation
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable
