Salary: £48,000 £52,000
A critically acclaimed Sri Lankan restaurant in the heart of Borough Market is hiring a Sous Chef to support the Head Chef and run the kitchen day-to-day.
The restaurant is single-site, founder-led, and built around an authentic Sri Lankan menu fresh produce from the market on the doorstep, regional cooking techniques rarely seen at this level in London, and a published cookbook that anchors the brand. Press coverage and bookings have been strong since opening.
The role
You'll run the pass during service, lead section chefs, own prep standards and consistency, and step up in the Head Chef's absence. Outside service, you'll contribute to ordering, stock, kitchen rotas, and the development of new dishes alongside the Head Chef.
What we need
Current Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous experience in a high-volume independent or premium restaurant
Genuine interest in South Asian cooking Sri Lankan, South Indian, or comparable cuisines
Solid grip on GP, ordering and stock control
Section leadership experience, with a track record of training and developing chefs
Comfortable running service when the Head Chef is off
