Desian Education are proud to be supporting an “Outstanding” in all area’s school in Winsford that is at the heart of it’s local community as they require an experienced teaching assistant to join their team on a temporary basis.

This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join a supportive and welcoming school with a fantastic team ethos on a full-time temporary basis. This school is also considering a permanent appointment from September for the right individual.

Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school you will be joining an experience SEMH resource class, working in collaboration with the teacher and other teaching assistants to ensure that the needs of your pupils are at the heart of all operations. Unfortunately the pupils you will be supporting have had a difficult start to life and as such all have varying levels of SEMH and trauma. To support their emotional development you will take a nurturing and trauma-informed approach to all lesson and activity delivery to ensure positive outcomes and to build confidence. You will:

  • Integrate into new pupils groups
  • Support with ELSA interventions
  • Support during break and lunch times
  • Work in collaboration with external professionals

What you need to succeed

  • Full “Right to Work” in the UK
  • An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Referenceable experience supporting children with SEMH/behavioural needs within a classroom or residential xwzovoh environment
  • Be able to commit to a full-time temporary contract consisting of 32.5 hours per week
