Contract: 12 months (possible extension)

Location: Newport

Pay Rate:

  • £40.00 per hour Umbrella
  • £30.23 per hour PAYE
  • Working Pattern: 37 hours per week (overtime paid at standard rate)


An established organisation within a highly regulated environment is seeking an experienced Building & Construction Project Lead to manage capital investment and refurbishment projects across an operational site in Newport.


This role will suit a strong Project Manager with a solid background in construction and building services, capable of delivering projects from early feasibility through to handover.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multi‑functional project teams to deliver CAPEX projects
  • Manage projects from inception and feasibility, through design, specification, site delivery and handover
  • Develop and manage project delivery plans, risks and opportunities
  • Prepare and manage business cases and project documentation
  • Oversee external consultants and professional service work packages
  • Monitor on‑site works, ensuring technical compliance and adherence to H&S standards
  • Liaise with stakeholders including clients, architects, engineers and contractors
  • Manage project costs, progress reporting and governance requirements


Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience delivering capital investment or refurbishment projects
  • Strong project management capability within construction or building services
  • Experience working on operational or large site environments
  • Background in mechanical and electrical building services (advantageous)
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management and client‑facing experience
  • Ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and external suppliers
  • Familiarity xwzovoh with UK health & safety legislation
  • Experience within defence, FM, consultancy or similarly regulated environments is desirable


Qualifications (Desirable)

  • ONC / HNC or equivalent in a building services or engineering discipline
  • Professional membership (CIBSE, IMechE, IET or similar)
  • SMSTS, CCNSG or NEBOSH (advantageous)


Additional Information

  • BPSS clearance required (existing SC is advantageous)
  • UK Nationals only
  • Role is inside IR35
