Cloud Platform Product Manager – Contract (10 Months)
Location: Exeter (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)

Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.
We’re supporting a major organisation undergoing a significant transformation of its technology platforms that underpin critical services across engineering, data, and operational teams.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Product Manager to take ownership of internal platforms that enable developers, scientists, and service teams—focusing on improving usability, reliability, and overall delivery effectiveness.
The Role
You’ll join a Platform Technology function responsible for shared capabilities such as developer tooling, APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure services.
Your focus will be on making these platforms intuitive, reliable, and valuable—reducing friction for internal users and enabling faster, safer delivery across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap and backlog for one or more internal technology platforms
- Develop business cases for platform enhancements and supplier engagements
- Work closely with engineering, architecture, and delivery teams to drive incremental improvements
- Translate the needs of internal users (developers, operations, technical teams) into clear priorities
- Define and track measurable outcomes such as adoption, usability, and performance
- Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term sustainability and compliance
- Facilitate collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Promote product-led, user-focused ways of working within complex, legacy environments
What We’re Looking For
- Experience managing platform or infrastructure products (e.g. developer platforms, internal tools, shared services)
- Strong exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure or similar)
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and commercial services
- Solid understanding of Agile / Lean practices within engineering teams
- Strong user-centred product thinking, even when users are technical (e.g. developers)
- Ability to prioritise based on outcomes (impact vs effort, cost of delay, etc.)
- Comfortable working in complex, legacy environments with competing priorities
- Strong xwzovoh stakeholder management and communication skills
You’ll Thrive If You
- Enjoy building products that enable others to deliver value
- Take a pragmatic, outcome-focused approach to product development
- Prefer sustainable, well-designed solutions over quick fixes
- Are comfortable bringing clarity and structure to complex environments
- Collaborate effectively across diverse teams and disciplines
Success in This Role (6–12 Months)
- Clear and agreed platform roadmap in place
- Well-defined and prioritised backlog aligned to business needs
- Improved adoption and usability of platform services
- Positive feedback from engineering and architecture stakeholders
- Introduction of product practices that improve visibility and delivery flow
