Team Leader – Children’s LD Residential Home (3 Beds, Birmingham)

Salary: £32,000 + Sleep and overtime

Contract: Full-time, permanent

We are looking for a dedicated Team Leader to support the management and daily running of our 3-bed Children’s Learning Disabilities (LD) home in Birmingham. You will play a key role in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise support workers to deliver high-quality care.
• Ensure all safeguarding, care plans, and behaviour support strategies are followed.
• Promote independence, communication, and positive routines for each child.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and shift planning.
• Build strong relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies.

Requirements

• Experience in children’s residential care, ideally within LD or complex needs settings.
• Strong understanding of learning disabilities, autism, and communication needs.
• Level 3 Children & Young People qualification (or equivalent).
• Confident leadership skills and a child-centred approach.
• Ability to remain calm, consistent, and solution-focused.
