Director of Field Operations

Director of Field Operations | Birmingham | £110,000 Have you spent your career leading field-based technical operations, coordinating engineers, projects and supply chains across multiple sites simultaneously? A well-established global technology business is looking for a Director of Field Operations to lead their UK operations function. They work with some of the most recognisable names in hospitality and retail, deploying, installing and supporting technology across hundreds of sites nationwide. The Role Reporting to the CEO, you will take ownership of the full operational delivery function across supply chain, deployment project management and field technician scheduling. It is a sizeable remit. You will be leading roughly half of the total UK headcount, coordinating complex logistics, managing project managers and ensuring engineers are in the right place at the right time. This is not a back-office role. You will be customer-facing, attending quarterly reviews with major clients and working closely with a wider senior leadership team. Key Responsibilities •Directing project managers overseeing the deployment of technology into new and existing commercial sites •Managing supply chain operations for high-value hardware, just-in-time, high accuracy required •Coordinating a national field technician scheduling function •Driving operational performance, structure and continuous improvement •Representing operations externally with major client accounts •Hybrid working across two UK hubs, primarily Hemel Hempstead with travel to a northern site The Ideal Candidate •Proven track record leading field or deployment operations at a senior level •Strong people leader, able to engage, develop and retain a large, diverse team •Solid understanding of supply chain and project coordination in a fast-moving environment •Commercially aware and confident with external stakeholders •Highly organised with the ability to manage high volumes of concurrent activity Sector background is flexible. What counts is operational leadership experience and the ability to hit the ground running.
