We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team of 11 workshop staff, within our family business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance & is also interested in extending their knowledge further with HGV vehicles.

The position involves working with diverse tools and techniques, including fabrication, welding, electrical systems, and heavy machinery. A commitment to quality workmanship and customer service is essential.

*Responsibilities*

* Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles and machinery using schematics and electrical experience.
* Perform repairs and maintenance on a wide range of commercial vehicles including HGV as required.
* Utilise hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify components.
* Execute electrical wiring, soldering, and schematic reading to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.
* Carry out assembly tasks for vehicle parts or equipment modifications as required.
* Repair or replace mechanical components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
* Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts utilised for each vehicle or machine.
* Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
* Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely while maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.

*Qualifications*

* Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair.
* Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams.
* Skilled in fabrication, welding, soldering, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
* Some experience working with heavy vehicles an advantage.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and repair procedures.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues.

Pay: £35,500.00-£42,500.00 per year
