Partner - Professional Risks Manchester Senior Leadership Role Strategic Growth Opportunity Markel Law is looking for an accomplished lawyer at Partner level (or ready to step up) to play a key role in the continued growth of our Professional Risks team, with a particular focus on construction-related claims and coverage work.This is more than a fee-earning Partner position. The role: Based in Manchester, you will join and help lead our growing Professional Risks team, working on a broad range of insured and uninsured matters including: Professional liability, public liability and property damage claims Significant coverage advice Claims ranging from small matters to multi million pound disputes A strong emphasis on construction professionals, alongside other regulated and professional sectorsYou'll act as both a day-to-day case lead and a supervisor and mentor, while playing a visible role in: Team leadership and development Business development and relationship management Strategic planning and service expansion Supporting Markel Law's advice line, hub content and wider profile What we're looking for: We're keen to speak with senior lawyers who can demonstrate: Significant experience defending liability claims, ideally within a construction or built environment context Strong expertise in policy coverage advice Technical excellence combined with commercial, pragmatic judgement A proven ability to build relationships with insurers, brokers and internal partners Confidence in business development and contributing to sustainable growth Experience supervising and developing other lawyers A sound understanding of the legal-insurance interface Competitive salary plus annual bonus 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays (with buy/sell options) Excellent pension, private medical and dental cover Life assurance, income protection and travel insurance A clear platform for career progression and influence The opportunity to help shape a high-profile, expanding practice within a global organisation Our culture: At Markel, we're proud of our people first culture.
