They have multiple offices across the UK and have a solid reputation for successful project delivery throughout numerous sectors within the Built Environment. Projects can vary from small works to £100m+ across Education, Heritage, High-End Residential, Cultural, Laboratories and more. They have a very modern, open-plan office space, you will get exposure to designing a wide range of electrical systems across multiple jobs and there is an excellent support system in place for staff training and development. They are currently seeking a Electrical Design Engineer pr Grad +1/2 to join their Edinburgh office.



The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.

Role

  • Assist in the design and specification of electrical building services systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, data/communications, and security systems
  • Prepare detailed calculations (load assessments, cable sizing, lighting calculations, fault levels, etc.)
  • Produce electrical layouts, schematics, and technical drawings using CAD/Revit
  • Support the development of design reports, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Attend site visits and surveys to gather information and monitor project progress
  • Liaise with architects, mechanical engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate designs
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and client requirements
  • Assist with preparation of tender documentation and respond to technical queries


Qualifications/Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building xwzovoh Services Engineering
  • Understanding of building services design principles
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit (desirable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to develop professionally
