Teaching Assistant – SEN (Permanent, Full-Time, Immediate Start) The Opportunity An outstanding opportunity to join a highly regarded specialist school in Yeovil, known for its inclusive ethos and commitment to delivering meaningful, personalised education. This setting supports pupils aged 4 to 18 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, communication needs and behaviours that may challenge. Role & Responsibilities Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with learning and development Assist in delivering tailored literacy, numeracy and life skills activities Promote engagement, independence and positive behaviour Provide personal care and physical support where required Help maintain a safe, organised and stimulating learning environment Work closely with teachers and contribute to individual learning targets Support less experienced staff and contribute to a strong team culture Working Hours & Contract Full-time, permanent role – employed directly by the school Immediate start available Hours: 8.40am to 4.30pm Term-time role with ongoing professional development opportunities What We’re Looking For Minimum 6 months childcare experience (essential) Experience supporting children with SEN GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths Patient, resilient and adaptable approach Strong communication and teamwork skills This is a truly rewarding role where you will support pupils with complex learning, physical and behavioural needs, helping them build confidence, independence and essential life skills in a caring and supportive environment. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
