To be a successful SEND teaching assistant, you will need – A level 2 or 3 Teaching assistant qualification / open to unqualified applicants too To have sensitivity and understanding To be patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. To have active listening skills To be able to look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare. To be flexible and open to change To have excellent verbal communication skills To be able to adapt teaching support according to student's needs. Other essential requirements include: Enhanced DBS Disclosure on the update service is an advantage but we can apply for one for you if needed. Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable). Professional reference checks. CV must cover the last 5 years of employment history where possible. Legal right to work in the UK.
