Shift pattern: and sleep nights
Hours: 36 hours per week
Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence (essential youll enjoy trips out & driving the clients vehicle!)
? New Opportunity Join Us as a Support Worker! ?
We are looking for caring, reliable and confident Support Workers to join a small team supporting an individual who lives at home with their family in Exeter .This person has complex clinical needs, autism, epilepsy, a communication disorder and behaviours that may present as challenging and they rely on a consistent team who truly understand them.
They love music, social media, shopping trips, women's football and exploring new places.To help them do more of what they enjoy, we need someone local who knows Exeter, can drive their car, and holds a full UK driving licence.
She communicates with her family regularly, especially mum, so it's really important that we're all clear and consistent with messages so there is no confusion.This young lady is very communicative when she's in the "green" and has great verbal communication skills but also loves communicating in written form i.e. text messages, emails and written notes. However as she starts moving through "amber" and "red" her ability to communicate deteriorates.She doesn't like visual aids or symbols, and can struggle with tone, so can be upset or offended if she takes something the wrong way or thinks you were being disrespectful.
? What youll be doing As a Support Worker, youll play an important role in helping this individual live safely, comfortably, and in a way that reflects their preferences. Your day might include:
Providing high-quality support on a 2:1 basis
Creating opportunities for meaningful activities at home and in the community
Encouraging social interaction and promoting emotional wellbeing
Supporting communication in the way that works best for them
Helping with routine household tasks to maintain a calm, organised environment
