Location: Wythenshawe
Hours: Mon - Fri 9:00 - 17:30 (Flexible)
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days working from home, 3 days office-based
Salary: Up to £35,000

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the full ocean import operations process , from origin through to final delivery
Liaise with global offices, agents, shipping lines, and suppliers to ensure smooth shipment coordination
Negotiate freight rates to deliver best-value solutions for clients
Select appropriate carriers and service options based on customer requirements
Provide competitive quotations and monitor market trends
Maintain clear and regular communication with clients throughout the shipment lifecycle
Ensure accurate documentation to support customs clearance
Coordinate delivery schedules with hauliers and transport providers
Troubleshoot and resolve delays or shipment issues efficiently
Manage invoicing, costs, and margin control accurately
Support client visits alongside the sales team to build long-term relationships

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in ocean import operations within freight forwarding
Strong knowledge of end-to-end import processes, including customs procedures
Confident in negotiating rates and selecting suitable carriers
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
A proactive problem-solver who remains calm under pressure
Comfortable working with freight systems and Microsoft Office
