We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Communications to lead our Communications team at a pivotal time for the organisation. As part of our People Management Group, you will play a critical role in shaping how we communicate with colleagues, customers, stakeholders and the media — protecting and enhancing our reputation while bringing our corporate plan, vision and values to life.
As Head of Communications, you will:
· Lead, motivate and develop the Communications team, setting clear objectives and ensuring delivery against an agreed Communications Plan
· Provide strategic communications advice and guidance to the Executive Team and senior leaders, supporting cultural and customer-centric goals
· Organise and deliver internal and external events that promote the organisation and drive engagement from customers, stakeholders, and colleagues.
· Ensure compliance with GDPR, document retention rules and any prevailing legislation and return a well-managed budget.
· Develop and deliver a communications plan that supports the strengthening of our external brand and drives colleague and customer engagement whilst bringing to life our corporate plan, vision, and values
· Track, measure, analyse and deliver reports on current communications efforts.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a confident communications leader with a strong track record of delivering strategic, high-impact communications in a complex, customer-focused environment.
You will have:
· Professional communications qualification or equivalent
· Proven experience of leading communications through transformation and change programmes
· Significant experience developing and implementing communications strategies across multiple channels and audiences
· Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder management skills
· The ability to manage competing priorities and complex demands
· A focus on strengthening brand reputation and organisational culture
Please note this position may require flexibility to work outside ‘standard’ hours from time to time to attend meetings and flexibility on hours during peak times/key events will be required
