Role – Locum Occupational Therapist

Location – Kingston, London

Rate – £40-£44 an hour

Hours – Full time ideally

Contract Length – Ongoing



About the Role

As a Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will work as an autonomous practitioner across a range of settings. You will provide high-quality occupational therapy to support children and young people with disabilities in reaching their full potential.

You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the assessment and support of occupational therapy needs and offering specialist advice to other professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a specialist caseload of children and young people with complex physical, learning, and social needs

• Writing reports for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and multidisciplinary assessments and reviews

Skills and Experience

• Experience in clinical assessment and intervention as an Occupational Therapist

• Experience in, or a strong interest in, paediatric occupational therapy

• Knowledge of child development, neurodevelopment, and childhood occupations

• Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively, demonstrating initiative and a solution-focused approach

• Skilled in assessment, treatment planning, implementation, and evaluation in line with professional standards

• Ability to produce clear, concise reports for use by multiple agencies

• Experience with a range of therapeutic techniques, xwzovoh including standardised and non-standardised assessments

• Understanding of physical and developmental disabilities and their impact on occupational performance

• Participation in clinical audits and/or research

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey sensitive information with empathy and reassurance

• Ability to reflect on and critically appraise own performance

• Experience delivering OT programmes and supporting others (e.g. school staff and caregivers) through training and advice
