Timber/Furniture Maintenance Fitter

Forde Recruitment, a leading provider of industrial staff in South Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join their expanding team.
The ideal candidate will come from a furniture or timber product manufacturing background and possess strong mechanical expertise, supported by a working knowledge of electrical systems. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of our machinery and ensuring minimal downtime across production.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all machinery and equipment
Develop and implement structured maintenance programs
Diagnose faults and perform repairs on timber manufacturing machinery
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
Catalogue spare parts and manage stock levels of consumables
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
Participate actively as a member of the Health & Safety Team
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and best practices
Equipment Experience (Desirable)
Saws
Edge banders
CNC machines
Other timber processing and manufacturing equipment
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a similar maintenance role within timber, furniture, or related manufacturing
Strong mechanical skills with basic electrical knowledge
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving
Hours
8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3pm on Friday
