Graduate Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

A Graduate Engineer within a professional Building Services Design and Engineering Consultancy who offer technical expertise on a wide-range of Mechanical and Electrical building and industrial services. The team work closely together to produce high standards of work to meet and exceed client’s requirements. The business is well established and highly respected within its field of expertise. This role will provide excellent opportunities for development and experience within a friendly and supportive environment. Key tasks: 1. Assess project brief from Client/Partner. 2. Investigate design solutions including equipment options. 3. Carry out design calculations for proposed solutions. 4. Prepare design drawings and specifications. 5. Monitor contractor’s progress on site and witness testing and commissioning You will complete design solutions which: •Meet the project brief •Meet the project budget •Satisfy all relevant regulations, standards and codes of practice •Are in accordance with the project programme Qualifications and experience: •Mechanical/Electrical Building Services Engineer with Hons. Degree level or BTEC HND plus further studies •Experienced in the use of CAD •Relevant work experience undertaken alongside degree or the completion of an official 1 year placement taken as part of the degree preferred Skills/competencies: •Advanced IT skills •High level of attention to detail •Good communication skills, both written and oral •Good organisational skills •Ability to meet deadlines •A methodical and accurate approach to work activities •Ability to make effective decisions within established procedures •Knowledge of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering for Building Services •Must be able to work as a member of a team •Should have a flexible approach to work and be able to adapt to the culture and expectations of a successful professional engineering practice Personal qualities: •Self-motivated •Ability to work within a small team •Friendly and outgoing •Enthusiastic
