An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Employment Solicitor to join the established London employment team of a highly regarded, nationally recognised practice.

The team advises on a broad range of sophisticated contentious and non-contentious employment matters, offering Associates the opportunity to develop a genuinely rounded practice. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Partners and Senior Lawyers, with good levels of responsibility and client contact from an early stage.

The practice covers the full spectrum of employment law, including strategic and day-to-day advisory matters, senior hires and exits, restructurings and reorganisations, contractual issues, business transfers and restrictive covenants. The team also handles a varied caseload of employment disputes and litigation, alongside employment support on corporate transactions.

The breadth of the practice is an important feature of the opportunity. Rather than specialising too narrowly at an early stage, Associates are encouraged to gain meaningful experience across advisory, contentious and transactional employment work, allowing them to develop both their technical expertise and broader commercial judgement.

The matters are frequently complex and commercially sensitive, requiring Lawyers to understand the wider business considerations surrounding the legal issues. Associates have the opportunity to work directly with clients and alongside colleagues in complementary practice areas, providing a strong foundation for developing both technical capability and confidence as an adviser.

The team itself is collaborative and Partner-led, with a strong emphasis on developing Associates through direct involvement in matters rather than a heavily layered structure. Junior Lawyers receive appropriate support and supervision while being encouraged to take greater ownership of matters and client relationships as their experience develops.

The firm is particularly interested in speaking with Employment Solicitors at approximately 1-3 years' PQE, although there is flexibility to consider candidates outside that range where their experience is relevant.

Candidates are likely to have gained a solid grounding in employment law with a recognised City, West End, national or strong regional practice and able to demonstrate a stable career background. Experience across both contentious and non-contentious matters would be advantageous, although the emphasis is on strong technical foundations, sound judgement, good drafting skills and a genuine interest in developing a broad employment practice.

The firm offers a well-established London platform, high-quality work and a supportive environment in which Associates can develop over the longer term. The firm operates a hybrid working model, with Lawyers expected to spend a minimum of three days per week in the London office.
