Location: Middlesex-Ashford

Vacancy Type: Permanent
About The Role
Ready to lead with purpose and make a real difference?
Join The Forward Trust as a Team Leader based on-site at HMP/YOI Bronzefield in Ashford (35 hours per week, including weekend rota). You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering trauma-informed, gender-responsive substance misuse services within a dynamic women’s prison, supporting individuals on their journey to recovery and reintegration. Please note: Level 2 vetting clearance is required prior to starting in post.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be at the centre of both leadership and frontline delivery:
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team delivering high-quality interventions
* Hold a caseload, facilitating 1:1 and group programmes
* Complete assessments and shape personalised treatment and release plans
* Provide supervision, coaching, and performance support to practitioners
* Collaborate across prison, healthcare, and mental health services
* Ensure delivery meets CQC standards, KPIs, and contractual targets
* Step in to oversee service delivery in the absence of the Service Manager
What we’re looking for
A confident, hands-on leader who thrives in a complex environment:
* Experience in substance misuse, criminal justice, or health settings
* Strong leadership and team development skills
* Ability to manage caseloads and deliver impactful interventions
* Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred care
* Excellent communication and partnership-building abilities
You’ll be joining a forward-thinking organisation where your work has genuine impact every day.
This role offers the opportunity to shape and influence a vital frontline service while working alongside a supportive, multidisciplinary team. With access to ongoing training and professional development, you’ll be encouraged to grow your skills while playing a key role in supporting lasting recovery and meaningful change for the women you work with.
Step into a role where leadership meets purpose, and everyday counts.
All prison-based roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and HMPPS security vetting. These checks can take up to 5 months to complete. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of both checks.
Please note if you have lived overseas within the last 5 years then checks may take longer.
As part of the interview stage, candidates will be required to deliver a short presentation (up to 10 minutes). Further details will be provided in advance, along with the job description to support your preparation.
