Quantity Surveyor civils

Long term freelance opportunities inside IR35 exist for Quantity Surveyors on a MOD project in Plymouth. Due to the nature of the project, candidates will be required to undergo a BPSS check which can take up to 8 weeks. Eligible candidates must hold a NATO or MISWG passport and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years This post offers a lodge allowance of £50/day gross As a Quantity Surveyor, your duties will include – Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets and KPI’s are met / exceeded. Ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are made and received on time. Preparation and review of monthly cost reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members Forecasting and monitoring spend against approved Client budgets. Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors. Agreement of certification and payment of subcontractor accounts - monitoring of such accounts against forecasts Implementation and compliance with the contract change control procedure and monitoring thereof including communications to client as appropriate. Managing sub-contractors including sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiation, order placement, agreement of account and payment To assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement Kier Group's policies for risk management. Requirements for this role include – Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveyor CSCS – White, PQP/AQP, RICS Fully converse and experience of NEC Contracts Experience with the use of CEMAR desired but not essential Experience working with Coins / Causeway accounting systems.
