Horizontal Borer - Conventional First Achieve Engineering Recruitment are acting on behalf of their client, a well-established and highly successful engineering manufacturer, who are looking for an experienced Conventional Horizontal Borer to join their manufacturing team in South Lanarkshire This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Horizontal Borer looking for a stable, long-term position within a specialist engineering environment. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate conventional horizontal boring machines. Read and interpret engineering drawings. Produce large and complex components to tight tolerances. Select appropriate tooling and machining methods. Inspect and measure your own work. Operate other conventional machinery where required, including lathes, mills and drills. Work safely and maintain high standards of housekeeping. Contribute to continuous improvement and workshop efficiency. What We're Looking For Proven experience as a Conventional Horizontal Borer / Horizontal Boring Machine Operator. Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills. Experience working to tight tolerances. Good understanding of machining processes and tooling. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Desirable: Experience with a Kerns Richard SH75 or similar, overhead crane operation and/or counterbalance forklift licence.
