About the role

Summary: South East Water is looking for a proactive Highways Support professional to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to play a key role in ensuring the safety, legality, and efficiency of work carried out on our public roads. As the backbone of our administrative team, you will act as the primary point of contact for local authorities and contractors. You will ensure that every repair and installation we undertake meets strict regulatory standards, helping us maintain our reputation for excellence. You will be supported to develop a deep understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act (1991) and the Traffic Management Act (2004), becoming an expert in the processes that keep our roads safe. Main Responsibilities Financial Administration: Efficiently process incoming invoices and manage recharge invoices for external contractors. Compliance Monitoring: Track, verify, and challenge road defects, Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs), and Section 74 charges to ensure accountability. Data Accuracy: Manage and maintain internal databases and filing systems with a high degree of precision. Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the go-to person for Highway Authorities, utility companies, and internal colleagues. Performance Reporting: Assist in the creation of monthly reports that track team performance and identify areas for improvement.About you We are looking for someone who is ready to learn on the job and take ownership of their work. Strong Foundation: Good standard of secondary education with solid numeracy and literacy skills. IT Savvy: Comfortable with general IT and eager to learn bespoke industry software and data systems. Independent & Organised: You can manage your own workload effectively without constant supervision. Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to handle inquiries professionally.
