Field Service Engineer

Job Title: Field Service Engineer Location: Field-based (UK-wide travel) Hours: 40 hours a week – Mon-Fri Salary: £35000-£45000 DOE Contract Type: Permanent Frontline Recruitment is hiring a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our client’s service team. This role involves working across a range of customer sites, providing technical support, maintenance, and installation services for industrial equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, customer satisfaction, and high service standards through both reactive and planned maintenance activities. Benefits: * Competitive salary (experience dependent) * Overtime opportunities available * Performance-related pay structure * Travel expenses covered * Company vehicle provided (with private use subject to policy) * Fuel card and company credit card * Private healthcare * Pension scheme with employer contribution * Generous holiday allowance * Supportive working environment with opportunities for development Key Responsibilities: * Fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of equipment * Responding to breakdowns and carrying out reactive maintenance * Performing planned maintenance and routine servicing * Carrying out unplanned maintenance as required * Replacing and repairing components * Installation and commissioning of equipment * Providing operator training and system handovers * Completing service reports and related administrative tasks Requirements: * Willingness to work in a mobile, field-based role * Home-based with travel to customer sites * Flexible approach to overtime and occasional overnight stays * Multi-skilled engineer with a preference for electrical bias * Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics * Relevant technical qualifications or completed apprenticeship (or equivalent experience) * Good IT skills * Strong communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team * High attention to detail and pride in quality of work Frontline Recruitment is an equal opportunities employer, and we act as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
