We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support primary and secondary aged students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs. Experience is desirable, can be personal or professional experience. .

This specialist setting in Tonbridge supports pupils aged 4-19 who require a highly adapted, individualised curriculum to help them thrive and reach their full potential. The school focuses on sensory learning, communication development, and life skills in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
This Learning Support Assistant role is an excellent opportunity to work closely and network with other teams of professionals, gaining relevant experience while expanding your knowledge and skillset. This role will give you essential experience within a challenging yet rewarding setting, career progression routes include SEN Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and various Child Psychology pathways.
Job Role and Responsibilities:
* Assist the class teacher in providing tailored learning experiences for students
* Support students with PMLD through sensory-based and communication-led activities
* Provide personal care and mobility support where required
* Behaviour and pastoral support
* Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students
* Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
* Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
* Ensure safeguarding of students
* Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD
Start date ASAP, trial days taking place to ensure the role and school is right for you
Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students
£92.56 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, term time only
No previous experience is required
If you have a Psychology / Criminology / Health & Social Care degree, it's an excellent use of your degree
You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship
