StPaulsCathedralseekanumberofsuchindividualstojointheirteamasaVirger.AsamemberoftheVirgersteam,youwillbeinvolvedinthestagemanagementofallservicesandeventsintheCathedral,fromthedailyroundofservicesthroughoutthechurchsyear,formingtheheart-beatofourCathedrallife,tostagemanagingnational,televisedservicesandevents,oftenatshortnotice,andalwaysaimingtomeetthemoodofthenation.
Youwillbepartofadepartmentatthefocalpointofourpastoralsupportandsafeguardingofthoseweencounterwhoarevulnerableorinneed,beingthecentralcontactpointbetweenourclergyandsafeguardingteam,andallotherstaffandvolunteersworkingontheCathedralFloor.Youwillbepartofadepartmentactingasacentralhub,involvedinthedailyrunningoftheChurchFloor,facilitatingtheworkofallotherdepartmentsworkinginsideStPaulsCathedral.
AsanindividualyouwillbeacommunicantmemberoftheChurchofEngland;youwillbeabletoprovideawelcoming,caringandcompassionateapproachwhendealingwithallvisitors,regardlessoftheirreasonforvisitingtheCathedral;youwillbereliableandcalmunderpressurewiththeabilitytouseyourowninitiative;youwillbeflexibleinyourapproach,beabletoworkcollaborativelyandhaveanexcellenteyefordetail.Ideally,youwillhaveabasicknowledgeoftheliturgyoftheChurchofEnglandandanappreciationofthedifferentworshiptraditions.
